Payments — Online Payments and Payment Methods
Overview#
Meni supports several payment methods. The options depend on how your business operates and which payment providers serve your country.
| Method | Who pays | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Online card / wallet payment | The guest at checkout | Guest menu |
| Pay-at-counter | The guest pays the cashier in cash or by card | POS terminal |
| Payment on delivery (COD) | The guest pays the courier on receipt | Delivery order |
Guest Online Payment#
Once online payment is connected, the guest sees Pay online at checkout. They open the selected provider's payment page, enter their card details or use a wallet (Apple Pay or Google Pay, if the provider supports it), then return to the menu with confirmation.
The money goes directly to your account with the provider. Meni does not hold the funds. You connect your own provider account.
The payment status (unpaid / pending / paid / refunded) appears in Orders and on the order card.
Connecting a Provider#
- Open App Store → Finance. Every live provider and every Russian payment method has a card. Other planned providers appear only in the connection list inside the location card. Configure opens a setup modal in the app store; select the location at the top. The alternative path is Locations → your location card → Payments tab, in the Guest Payment section.
- The system shows providers for the location's country and currency.
- Click Connect next to a provider to open its setup wizard.
- Enter your account credentials (Client ID, Secret Key or the provider's equivalent). Secret fields are encrypted and never included in public data.
- Enable Online payment to show the payment option to guests.
You can connect several providers at once. The guest then chooses at checkout, where each button names its provider. For a chain, configure each location separately: each address has its own legal entity and credentials. Connection status is kept in sync across the cards showing that location.
Test mode. Live providers offer a Test / Live mode switch. Start in test mode (for Stripe, use
sk_test_…keys) to check the payment flow without real transactions. Providers marked Coming soon cannot be connected for live payments: their cards are disabled.
Available Providers#
The registry contains 102 providers for different regions: 8 ready to connect and 94 planned. Your panel shows those matching the location's country and currency.

China / Hong Kong (cross-border): AsiaBill, OceanPayment, PayEase
Africa: Paystack, Flutterwave, Yoco, M-Pesa
Russia#
There are currently no ready-to-connect providers for Russia in the registry. Stripe and PayPal do not serve this market. All Russian methods are marked Coming soon, but each has an app-store card explaining the proposed connection. The Russian list has 29 entries in two groups.
PSP aggregators (17): YooKassa, CloudPayments, T-Kassa (T-Bank), Robokassa, Sber online acquiring, Alfa-Bank online acquiring, PayKeeper, Payselection, PayAnyWay (Moneta), Best2Pay, Uniteller, Payler, Yandex Pay and Split, Dolyame, YooMoney wallet, Prodamus, FreeKassa.
Banks with payment-acceptance APIs (12): Tochka, Modulbank (QR Pay, SBP), Raiffeisenbank, VTB, Gazprombank, Rosselkhozbank, Credit Bank of Moscow, Uralsib, MTS Bank, Credit Europe Bank, Russian Regional Development Bank (VBRR), Transcapitalbank.
The second group uses a different connection model: payment acceptance attaches to your current account at that bank and is enabled through its online banking, without a separate aggregator contract or another legal entity in the chain. If you already bank with one of them, this can simplify the future setup once the integration becomes available.

Cash and Pay-at-Counter#
If online payment is not connected or the guest prefers to pay on site:
- Pay-at-counter — the guest selects this at checkout; the cashier accepts cash or card through the POS.
- Payment on delivery (COD) — for delivery orders; the guest pays the courier on receipt.
These methods do not require a payment-provider connection.
Online Tips#
Guests can add a tip before completing an online payment. Enable Tips in the location's General settings. Percentage presets depend on the location's country, and the guest can enter a custom amount.
See Tips for details.
Security#
- Direct payment model: funds go directly to your account with the provider. Meni does not store card details or act as the payment processor.
- Secret credentials remain in the protected backend and are never published.
- The location's public profile contains only non-secret state: whether online payment is enabled and which providers are active.
- Connections use TLS.
Refunds#
Start a refund where the order was handled:
- Online store — open Returns (RMA): request → decision → payment. Refund options are the original payment method, a gift card (store credit), or an exchange; items can be returned to stock. The page sends online refunds to the provider. Crediting time depends on the provider and bank, usually 1–5 business days. In the Russian deployment (
cenaly.ru), Returns is not available: neither the navigation entry nor the storefront's Request a return button is shown. Use the POS refund flow instead. - POS — full or partial receipt refund, or exchange with a new sale, during an open cash shift.
The order card in Orders shows refund badges linking to the RMA. Refund amounts are included in Finance.

FAQ#
Where does an online payment go? Directly to your provider account (Stripe, BOG, TBC or another provider). Meni handles the order, not the transfer of funds.
Can I connect several providers at once? Yes. Guests choose at checkout; each payment button names its provider. Cash and pay-at-counter are independent of online providers.
Do I need Stripe in Georgia? No: connect Bank of Georgia (iPay) or TBC Bank. Stripe does not onboard Georgian merchants, so it is not offered to a location whose country is Georgia. An existing Stripe connection for a legal entity in another country remains visible and can continue working.
My provider is listed as planned. What can I do? It is not active yet. Use a ready provider where available (Stripe covers 46 countries in the registry; PayPal covers most countries), or tell us what you need. Russia currently has no ready provider in the registry, so guests must pay at the counter or on delivery until a Russian integration becomes available.
How do I check the setup?
Use the provider's test credentials (Stripe: sk_test_…) and place a test order. It should appear as Paid in Orders.
